Ninth Circuit Court Judge Being Investigated By NH AG

Breaking: Investigators allege that Nashua Judge Paul Moore of Bedford submitted anonymous judicial evaluations of himself online.

CONCORD, NH — A circuit court judge is under investigation by state officials that he allegedly pretended to be another person while submitted judicial evaluations online, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office. A criminal investigation of Ninth Circuit Nashua Court Judge Paul S. Moore was opened by NHAG investigators on March 12, 2018, according to Geoffrey W.R. Ward, Senior Assistant Attorney General, Chief, Public Integrity and Special Investigations Unit.

“The investigation was initiated based on information received today from the New Hampshire Supreme Court which alleges that Judge Moore submitted a number of anonymous judicial evaluations of himself online, making it appear as though some other person had submitted the evaluations and without identifying himself as the individual submitting the evaluations,” Ward stated. “The investigation by the Attorney General’s Office will focus on whether Judge Moore engaged in conduct constituting RSA 641:3, Unsworn Falsification; RSA 641:7, Tampering with Public Records or Information; and/or RSA 642:1, Obstructing Government Administration, as well as other criminal conduct as dictated by the evidence.”

Ward said no other information would be provided at post time but additional information might be provided at a future date, “consistent with our obligation to ensure the integrity of the investigation.”

Back in October 2017, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader, Moore was reportedly seen being “escorted from the courthouse” and later, was hospitalized at CMC in Manchester. State officials also refused to comment on why he wasn't in court or what happened. As of mid-December, he was still not back on the court.

Moore is the former co-founder and president of MooreMart, a nonprofit that was involved in shipping care packages to military personnel overseas. He stepped down from the org after possible conflicts of interest by the New Hampshire Conduct Committee, according to Manchester Ink Link.
