School Board Can Review Keefe Auditorium Alcohol Policy
Arts group are aiming to sell alcohol at events on Nashua school grounds.

The Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce wishes to implement a new policy that would allow organizations that use the Keefe Auditorium at Elm Street Middle School to sell beer and wine at citywide performances and events.
There is no state law banning the sale of alcohol on school property. City school board members have the authority to allow the sale of alcohol at school facilities despite questions over jurisdiction.
Earlier this month, the Nashua School Board heard requests from Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce President Chris Williams and Symphony NH Director Eric Valliere to consider the sale of alcohol at Keefe Auditorium for special events.

A proposal had guidelines that included requiring organizations to obtain a one-day liquor license, hiring a caterer with insurance and permits to do the serving, limiting sales to beer, wine and champagne and ending all sales after intermission, New Hampshire Union Leader reported.
The authority to rewrite the policy rests with the school board.
