My guest this week on Discovering Possibilities is libertarian blogger and activist, Scott McPherson. The theme for this month is, "Can America be Saved". Given the challenges we are facing as a nation, I am not so sure. Scott is even less sure. I think the show was exciting and the content will be controversial. Scott laid out a compelling rationale for secession, complete with historical precedent and practical considerations. I think viewers will be stimulated to think about the issue. Many will not agree with Scott but others will find the ideas compelling. That is the beauty of free speech.
Last week we had activist and author Stephen Erickson talk to us about whether an anti-corruption program could be implemented in government that would get us back on track.
McPherson believes there may be fundamental problems with government that cannot be fixed, which is leading to calls for secession in California and other places. Is secession the next step for a country that has grown beyond its ability to self-govern? We will talk about that this evening?
