Should Nashua Schools Push Back School Start Times?
Portsmouth and Durham school officials recently approved starting school an hour later to give students more sleep.
NASHUA, NH — More New Hampshire students will receive an extra hour sleep after two key school districts approved pushing back school start times. Earlier this month, Durham school officials agreed to start school at 8:15 a.m. instead of 7:30 a.m. This week, Portsmouth school officials approved starting school at 8:25 a.m. instead of 7:30 a.m., according to WMUR.
Supporters of the later start times say students need the extra sleep.
Currently, both Nashua high schools start at 7:20 a.m. City middle schools start at 8 a.m.
