Does your lipstick always seem to smear?
Your lips look beautiful when you apply your lipstick in your vanity mirror but as soon as you get in your car, slide on your most fashionable sunglasses and glance that finishing look into your mirror you notice that instead of looking like you are about to rock the runway, you're about to star in the next act at the circus!
Humidity? Possibly. Small lips? Could be. Cheap lipstick? Not always. Let's just assume it's one of those things that could have a millions reasons and focus on some tips to prevent it from happening again.
1. Like mom always said, lip liner, lip liner, lip liner... yes, there is some truth to that. :) If you use a lip liner that matches closely to your lipstick, it can help prevent your lipstick from bleeding all over. For those of you who have a hard time finding the perfect shade of liner, I would like to suggest Mary Kay's Lip Liner in the non-shade "Clear". It's retractable for your convenience and small enough to fit in your purse!
2. Dark, luxurious lips can be gorgeous in the evening. By simply using a concealer brush to apply just a touch of concealer around the frame of your lips after applying your lipstick helps prevent that gorgeous Merlot color from smearing all over.
3. Want your lipstick to last longer? The simple trick is to color your entire lip with liner, then apply lipstick, then blot with a tissue and then reapply the lipstick.
Glisten with your favorite lip gloss! My favorite is Mary Kay's Nourishine Lip Gloss in the shimmery shade "Au Naturel". It's great for everyday, conditions my lips and is long wearing!
Last but not least, keep your lips soft and healthy. No lipstick will last or look pretty on lips that are cracked and dry.
4. Lip mask. Yes, there is a mask for everything! If I could only take three pieces of cosmetics on a deserted island they would be my lip gloss, mascara and my Mary Kay Satin Lips set.
This is a fabulous two piece set that includes a lip mask that exfoliates dead skin (sounds delicious right? eww! I most def don't want that on my lips) and includes a moisturizing lip balm.
By following these simple tips you too can have lovely lips that will make you smile!
