If you are annoyed by crass consumerism as I am and believe product hustling should never be considered entertainment, skip the Super Bowl Commercials. Walk out of the room during breaks to make your own personal statement against consumerism. Only you will know what you are doing but that is OK.
I've done this for about ten years. Occasionally people ask me what I am doing. I just say, I never watch commercials. The next day when they ask which Super Bowl commercial I liked the best I tell them I was getting a sandwich when the commercials were playing. That usually works because they know I eat a lot of sandwiches.
