Sneaker Theft a Felony
It's a third arrest for Marion Smith, who allegedly stole sneakers from an Amherst Street department store.

Police arrested Marion Smith, 35, of Cross Street on Dec. 30 after she was identified as the person who allegedly stole a pair of sneakers from a local department store two days earlier.
Smith allegedly walked into an Amherst Street store on Dec. 28 at approximately 10:40 a.m. and left with a pair of sneakers she didn't pay for, police said. Smith was charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, a class B felony.
The felony charge was due to the fact that Smith has two prior theft related convictions, police said.
