Sports Authority Closings Include NH Store

NASHUA, NH — Sports Authority this week announced it will close 140 stores—including one in Nashua.

The sporting gear chain's other three New Hampshire locations in Salem, Amherst, and Manchester will remain open.

Consumerist posted a list of the 140 stores that will be shuttered.

Colorado-based Sports Authority has been hurt by competition from Amazon and Dick’s Sporting Goods over the last several years.

CEO Michael Foss said the 140 stores will be closed within three months. That total represents about a third of its stores.

Over 3,400 job cuts are expected.
