New for 2015, The Y and Child and Family Services of NH, a statewide, private nonprofit organization, have partnered on presenting the 2015 season of YMCA Camp Spaulding.

Camp Spaulding is a resident (overnight) camp located in Penacook, NH and welcomes approximately 300 children each summer from around New England to enjoy an array of recreational offerings on the 56-acre wooded campus along the Contoocook River.

Camp Spaulding offers a legacy of adventure programming that endeavors to improve the lives of campers, during and after the camp experience. Activities will include swimming and boating, performing arts, archery, woodworking, arts & crafts, high and low ropes courses, and horse-back riding, as well as outdoors living skills, cooking and nature and ecology programs.

In addition to Camp Spaulding, the Y offers the traditional outdoor day camp experience at Camp Sargent. Camp Sargent is located on Lake Naticook in Merrimack, NH and sits on 22 acres. Since 1924, the camp has offered the Greater Nashua Community a quality day camping program to boys and girls 5-16 years old. Sessions range from one to eleven weeks of traditional camp activities to more involved specialty camps that provide more time for campers to dive deeper into what interests them most. Regardless of the type of camp, staff always stress safety and teamwork towards each camper while building self-confidence and making friends.

The Y also offers seven additional summer day camp programs at our Merrimack (6 Henry Clay Drive, Merrimack) and Nashua (24 Stadium Drive, Nashua) branches for youth ages ranging from 3 to 16 years old. The Y’s camp activities focus on impacting the social-emotional, cognitive and physical development of all kids. Activities offered range from outdoor learning, STEM-focused programming, dance, play-acting, sports, cooking, and leadership development.

“With school out during the summer, many kids don’t get enough physical activity or opportunities for personal growth. Y Camping is here to fill that gap” says Josh Schupack, Camp Director, Camp Spaulding. “In our day and resident camps, kids are in a safe environment with nurturing adults where they feel welcome, develop character and explore new talents and interests to reach their potential. There is no such thing as a typical day at camp and through intentional programming and positive relationship building, campers want to be back at camp the second they leave.”
