Why are you seeking elective office?
My husband and I moved to Nashua from Massachusetts in 1986 for a reason. We thought it was a wonderful place to live and raise a family and we were right. I want to keep New Hampshire that special place for my children and their children. Maintaining the New Hampshire advantage of limited government and no income or sales taxes is the best way to do that and I pledge to protect our interests. I will work to make sure that we all Live Free and Thrive.
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
The single most pressing issue facing New Hampshire is full economic recovery so we can all resume and improve our lives. We need to put the right policies in place that don't involve taxing you even more while we climb out of this Covid-induced recession.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Spending! I am a fiscal conservative and firmly believe individuals, as well as governments, should live within their means. Both incumbents voted to increase spending by 13%! (HB1)
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)
Nashua is a border town and as such, shoppers from out of state regularly visit and spend their dollars in stores and restaurants. One of the incumbents co-sponsored a bill to bring a sales tax to New Hampshire (HB1492-FN) Instituting a sales tax would be devastating to Nashua's retail businesses.
Both of the incumbents I am running against voted for an income tax (HB712). I would never do that to you.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform
Education: Academic excellence, parental rights
Economy: No income tax, no sales tax
Safe Communities: Back the "Blue"
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
The field of education has an instrument of change for the better that is analogous to the creation of a law, the Individual Education Plan (IEP). The IEP focuses on identifying a problem that needs to be solved (an educational deficiency), a plan for improvement (the specialized education plan), and it involves bringing a group together (parents, social workers, other teacher specialists, and principals) to get buy-in and to implement the solution.
I have created and implemented hundreds IEPs over my teaching career. I can identify problems, create solutions and work with others to get buy-in. These abilities will serve me well in Concord as your representative. The fact that I can also handle groups of unruly children also proves my readiness to take on the political process.
The best advice ever shared with me was …
Practice what you preach.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I give careful and deliberate consideration to anything before making decisions. If elected, I would practice that same thoughtful process as a state representative. I am a conscientious person, I follow through on what I start and I am reliable. When I go to Concord, I know who I will be representing, you.
