“The Nutcracker” leaps onto Manchester’s Palace Theatre Stage

Southern New Hampshire Dance Theater’s production goes up in November

Friday, November 29th at 7:30 pm is the opening performance for Nashua’s own, Lea Iuliano, in “The Nutcracker” as part of the 2013-2014 Citizens Bank Performing Arts Series at The Palace Theatre.  Dancers from Southern New Hampshire Dance Theater (SNHDT) bring us on the magical journey, accompanied by a live orchestra. “The Nutcracker” continues through Sunday, December 1, 2013.

Lea Iuliano is a 15 year old dancer from Nashua High School South. She has been dancing with SNHDT for 4 years and this year will be performing as Columbine Doll, in the Dance of the Mirlitons, a Chinese Soloist, and a Flower in Waltz of the Flowers. “The Nutcracker means a lot to me,” she says, “I absolutely love the show and to be able to perform it every year at the Palace Theatre is such a privilege.”

This version of “The Nutcracker” features the only live orchestra in the state, conducted by Grammy Award winner, John McLaughlin Williams.

“The Nutcracker”, set in 19th Century Germany, this classic ballet begins with a charming Christmas party where their mysterious godfather, Herr Drosselmeyer gives Clara a magical toy, a Nutcracker that takes her on an unforgettable journey.
