New Hampshire scores consistently near the top on the freedom index and our citizens are among the best educated in the country. Yet, we rank low on one of the areas that free-thinking, educated consumers increasingly care about - access to great craft beer.
The craft beer industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States. The industry grew by almost 20% last year. Wouldn't it be great if New Hampshire could join the craft beer revolution in force and strive to make it to this list. Let's become one of the states with the best access to craft beer.
We already have some established and emerging superlative local brewers. Let's also chart out a strategy to attract the best brewers in the land to sell their beer here. We need to increase distribution. We need to make our registration process easier. We need to charge less for product and style registration. We need to court the best brewers and welcome them to our state. We need to make it easier for retailers to sell beer.
This is beginning to happen but not fast enough. Massachusetts and Vermont made the top 10 list. What about New Hampshire? Let's roll.
