Trump, Sanders Hold Double-Digit Leads in NH Poll

With the New Hampshire primary a week away, Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders topped the University of New Hampshire's primary poll.

DURHAM, NH — Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders hold sizable leads in New Hampshire according to the most recent polls, though a sizable number of voters say they are willing to change their minds and switch candidates,

Among Republicans, Trump is polling at 30 percent, with Ted Cruz second at 12 percent, according to the latest CNN/WMUR New Hampshire Primary Poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire and released on Sunday.

Among Democrats, Sanders is polling at 54 percent and Hillary Clinton at 31 percent.

Democratic candidates

  • Bernie Sanders, 54 percent
  • Hillary Clinton, 31
  • Martin O’Malley, 0

The pollsters cautioned that 40 percent of Democrats and 37 percent of Republicans they spoke to not fully committed to their candidates.

The poll found Sanders’ strongest support in New Hampshire is from those under the age of 35. Trump, despite his lead, is also the candidate most likely to be abandoned, the poll showed.

The New Hampshire primary is Feb. 9.

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton will be in Nashua.
