A man convicted of felony assault allegedly struck a woman several times, strangled her, and threatened her with a knife in Nashua last month, police say.
On Nov. 12, police arrested William Washington, 45, of 57 Mountain View Loop, Johnson, Vt., and charged him with second degree assault-domestic violence (Class B felony), criminal threatening-domestic violence (Class B felony), convicted felons (Class B felony), criminal mischief-domestic violence (Class A misdemeanor); three counts of simple assault-domestic violence (Class A misdemeanor); and two counts of obstructing the report of crime enforcement (Class A misdemeanor).

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

On Nov. 12, police arrested Leonel Torres-Chavira, 33, of 35 Ash St., Apt. A and charged him with two counts each of unlawful sale of a narcotic drug (crack cocaine), unlawful sale of a narcotic drug (crack cocaine, enhanced penalty), and unlawful possession of a narcotic drug with the intent to distribute (cocaine, enhanced penalty); and one count of unlawful possession of a narcotic drug (cocaine). Every offense is felony level.
Police seized more than 900 grams of cocaine from Chavira’s residence after executing a search warrant.
Meanwhile, a Nashua resident allegedly threatened a man with a knife on Nov. 16.
Police arrested Charlie Genao, 30, of 7 Amory St., and charged him with criminal threatening (Class B felony).
No injuries were reported.
Police also said they have arrested their final suspect in a Temple Street incident occurring earlier this year.
On Nov. 18. police arrested Jeremy Slater, 35, of 23 Temple St., and charged him with two counts each of disobeying a police officer and driving after revocation or suspension; one count of unlawful sale of a narcotic drug (heroin); and on an electronic bench warrant for non-appearance in court.
The incident happened at Slater’s address.
