VIDEO: Coveted 8 Ender for Country Club Curlers
A good day on the ice turned into an amazing one, as Nashua Country Club Curling Team maneuvered a rare high score.

Nobody expected the rolling stones in the house March 2 at Nashua Country Club – not the singing kind of Stones, but the curling kind – eight granite stones that rolled their way across the sheet and into "the house," for a rare 8 Ender, curling's most coveted scoring configuration.
"It's extraordinary, having all eight of your stones counting for a score. Very unusual," said Nashua Alderman David Deane, who is head ice maker for the historic country club curling rink, where the Granite State Bonspiel was held March 2.
In a typical curling match, a good outcome might be getting five stones in the house, which is the zone where scoring takes place. But maneuvering all eight stones so they remain in scoring position? It's right up there with a 300 in bowling, or a perfect baseball game.

If you watch the YouTube video shot by Rob Kluger, uploaded here, you can see team members Jeff Fasulo (skip), Frank Shaffer (lead), Garrett Wein (second), and Tony Tremblay (vice) strategizing just before the final stone is swept down the sheet – and you can hear the surprise – and joy – when the final stone is masterfully swept into perfect scoring position.
According to the Grand National Curling Club, any team that achieves an 8 Ender is eligible for 8-ender patches for each team member, and a mention in U.S. Curling News.

According to Deane, it's a big deal for Nashua.
"In my 12 years involved with the curling team, this is the first Ive ever seen an 8 Ender. And I talk to a lot of the curlers that go to different events all over – Massachusetts, New York, Maine, Connecticut, Maryland, and into Canada, and I've never heard of any 8 Ender," Dean said.
