Watercolor Exhibition at Nashua Public Library

Watercolors by award-winning painter Suzanne Binnie are on display at the Nashua Public Library through August.

Artist Suzanne Binnie shares her love or nature, color texture and whimsy with an exhibition of her work,  “Culhaven Studios Presents,” through August at the Nashua Public Library.

Her work features floral, animal, and bird paintings, predominantly watercolor with some mixed media, including ink and rice paper and some Zentangle. “Watercolor is my first love,” says Binnie, “and Zentangle is my new passion.”

Binnie’s background in design allows her to create attractive but ambiguous pictorial arrangements that tease the eye. “Art is problem-solving applied to combining shapes, colors, textures, and hues in stimulating and interesting ways to produce pleasing and satisfying images,” she says.

After earning a bachelor’s in fine art from the Tyler School of Art, Binnie gave up painting for 17 years while raising her children but returned to it with renewed zeal in 1985. A resident of Hollis, Suzanne shows her work at the NOA Gallery in Groton, Mass. She is a Certified Zentangle Teacher.

Binnie’s work won Best in Show Awards at the Callao Art Show in Virginia in 1997 and at E. W. Poore’s Juried Show in Manchester in 2007.
