What is Happening with the Proposed Hudson Logistics Center(HLC)?
Proposed Hudson Logistics Center
The Hudson Planning Board meets again this Wednesday at 7pm. See the Patch Calendar for location or login information.
The Hudson town hearing regarding the Proposed Hudson Logistics Center has been continued for months and the plans have changed quite a bit over the months. One of the reasons this has been going on so long is because it is such a big development project. It impacts roadways and traffic, local wildlife and their homes, wetlands, possible pollutants to both air and water supplies, and the basic living environment of residents of southern NH and northern MA. This proposed development was declared to have a regional impact near its beginnings because if it is approved it will have a regional impact! Southern NH may become a trucking center. This has an upside in that things you order should have quick delivery schedules, but how do people feel about truck noise and pollution on our roadways, everyday? It is up to citizens and the elected officials to ensure whether these impacts are beneficial or harmful to our living environments. Please share your observations and feelings before it is too late.
The Hudson Planning Board and the Hudson Board of Selectmen along with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, Wetlands Bureau (NHDES), New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT), Conservation Commissions and other governing bodies all need to approve permits and grant exceptions to current laws. The laws have existed for reasons, so please encourage these government officials to think clearly about all the impacts before granting any exceptions.
