What's Happening at the Library

Closed Monday for Washington's Birthday, but after that, it's open season on free books, CDs, DVDs and great programming.

Books and other educational, informational materials are a given. But your local library also goes out of its way to be a true community hub where people can come to learn, connect and elevate their minds  – or just enjoy a family flick together. There's something for everyone at the Nashua Public Library.

Registration is open for vacation week programs  geared toward kids and teens.

Other highlights: Registration is open for Intro to Fly Tying, Sat., Feb. 25, and Intro to Fly Fishing, Sat., Mar. 24.

  • Introduction to Fly Tying 1 a.m. – 3 p.m.

In this workshop you'll be introduced to the tools, materials, threads, and hooks required for fly-tying. Then, in a hands-on session, you'll learn to tie nymph, wet, streamer, and dry flies. Tools and materials will be provided, but participants may bring their own if they have them. For adults, and children over twelve if accompanied by an adult. Registration required.

  • Family Film: "Puss in Boots" 2 p.m., 90 mins./Rated PG _ A story about the events leading up to the sword fighting cat's meeting with Shrek and his friends.
