This is a baby Great Horned Owl. Best estimate is that it is about two months old. In New England the Great Horned Owls nests so that they are incubating eggs in late February. This photo was taken 16 May 2013. This one was not really thrilled that I was close enough (Approx. 20 feet) to get this photo. Owls are a nearly perfect "killing machine" and this little one was clicking its beak as if to tell me I may be its next victim!
