Why is New Hampshire so awesome?

We know New Hampshire is awesome. The question is why?

A Politico report released a few days ago took data from several studies and concluded that New Hampshire is the best state in the union. So, the logical question we should be asking is Why are we so awesome? And, Why are the un-awesome so awful? I posed this question to both of my sociology classes yesterday. The answers are not obvious and my sense is it may lead us to some politically incorrect and indeed uncomfortable conclusions.
