Woman Charged in Department Store Heist

Police recovered more than $1,500 in goods.

Holly Groulx, 29, of 19 ½ Benson Ave., Nashua, was charged Dec. 17 by Nashua Police with Theft By Unauthorized Taking or Transfer, a Class A Felony, after she allegedly left a local department store with a shopping cart loaded with merchandise.

Police were called to Kohl's on Gusabel Avenue at about 7 p.m. for a reported theft. A store employee told police a woman had left the store with a shopping cart full of merchandise that she didn't pay for, items valued in excess of $1,500. People who witnessed the woman leaving the store were able to provide a license plate number to police that led to the identification of the Groulx, who was located and arrested by police.

Groulx was charged with Theft By Unauthorized Taking, a Class A Felony due to the value of the merchandise. All merchandise was recovered by the store.

A Class A Felony is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Groulx was released on $8,000 personal recognizance bail pending her arraignment at 9th Circuit Court - Nashua District Division.
