Nashua, NH - Continuing a streak of dominance now two years running, the World Academy boys and girls basketball teams recently took top spots at the Tri-County Division 3 basketball Championship, held at Epping Middle School on Feb. 2.

World Academy boys basketball team took the Championship spot among Tri-County Division 3 teams at this weekend’s final matchup in Epping. This Championship marked the World Academy boys’ second championship title in Division 3, coming in their second year at that level since moving up from Division 4.

The World Academy girls also brought a very strong showing to their Championship game, placing second in the division overall. This accomplishment adds to their recent string of success as well, having brought home the first place spot in last year’s Championship.

The teams were led to the Championship by Coach Erik Congdon, who also led the teams to their dual victories last year. To reach this year’s final game, the girls defeated Litchfield on Jan. 28, and then won an incredibly narrow win over Nashua Catholic on Jan. 31. Our Boys beat Sanborn on Jan. 28 and won an upset against Weare on Jan. 31 to bring them to the Championship.

World Academy looks forward to hoisting up the championship banner, while congratulating the departing eighth-grade players and looking forward to next year’s season.
