Wrong-Way Teen Driver Dies After Crash
Heritier Wakilongo died after a crash in Manchester on Sunday; a driver from Hollis was also injured during the accident.
MANCHESTER, NH — A teen has died due to injuries sustained in a car accident in the Queen City on Sunday.
At just before 8:30 p.m., police were sent to the area of Beech Street near Harvard Street for a report of a crash. A Hyundai Elantra, according to police, had been driving the wrong way on Beech Street before crashing into a Mercedes. The driver of the Hyundai, Heritier Wakilongo, 19, of Manchester was taken to the hospital and later died.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 59-year-old man from Hollis, also sustained minor injuries, Heather Hamel, the public information officer for the Manchester Police Department, said.
