Phil Schommer has been named Aquatics Coordinator for the Merrimack YMCA. “Phil is a great swim instructor and attentive lifeguard, and most recently has served as head lifeguard at the Nashua YMCA. He has proven to be a great leader among the aquatics team,” said Katie Parker, YMCA Senior Program Director. Phil moved to New Hampshire in November of 2010 from Colorado Springs, Colorado, to attend helicopter school (CR Helicopters) in Nashua. He is now a commercial certified helicopter pilot. He lives in Hollis. What he likes about working at the Y is “meeting new people and building new friendships,” he said.
Nashua resident Erinn Kobisky is happy to relocate her Y career to her hometown. Before joining the Nashua Y as Welcome Center Director, she was a School Age Child Care Director for the North Suburban YMCA in Woburn, Mass., for 7 years. She ran one of the after school programs in Burlington, Mass., as well as the summer camp during the summer months. Erin went to Keene State College where she majored in elementary education and sociology. “I am very excited about my new role at the Nashua Y! I am excited to be learning about a new department at the Y and happy to be serving the people from my own community!,” she said.
