YMCA of Greater Nashua’s Leader’s Club Receives Donation of two iPad Minis for Fall Fundraisers

YMCA Leaders Club parent, Bill O’Herren of Nashua, donated an iPad mini he won through a photo contest held by his financial institution, Logix Federal Credit Union.

The contest was open to all credit union members to take pictures of the Logix robot mascot, Robix, while vacationing this summer.
He said, “My family and I (and Robix) enjoyed a wonderful European vacation in July. The winning picture was taken in Geneva, Switzerland, from on top of St. Pierre Cathedral overlooking the city, Lake Geneva, and Jet d’Eau. I decided to donate the prize to the Nashua YMCA Leaders Club for their fall fundraiser. I wanted to donate to this organization because both of my children, Matthew, age 16, and Christopher, age 12, have gained so much from being part of the Leaders Club. They have volunteered at community events, attended leadership rallies and camps, and participated in weekly meetings with other teens from all around Nashua learning about serving their community and becoming tomorrow’s leaders. The adviser and driving force behind this great organization is an individual who tirelessly works with so many children in the Nashua area, Larry Harding. Larry works for the Nashua School District (Paraprofessional) as well as the YMCA (Youth and Teen Coordinator) and he commits so much of his own time working passionately to grow the Leaders Club along with so many other projects serving the greater Nashua area.”

O’Herren added, “Mary Johnson, Logix Federal Credit Union Branch Manager, was so excited about my donation to the Leaders Club that she agreed to match the donation with a second iPad Mini.” A small award ceremony took place Friday, October 24, at the Logix branch in Nashua.
