YMCA Adventure Guides volunteer to pack food boxes to support End 68 Hours of Hunger
Food drive nets over $4,000 of non-perishable food items that will go to Nashua students
From February 1st through the 20th, the YMCA of Greater Nashua collected food in support of "End 68 Hours of Hunger." On Wednesday, the YMCA Adventure Guides participants helped box this food that will go to students in the Nashua Public School system, through End 68 Hours of Hunger, just in time for February school vacation week. In total, over $4,000 in non-perishable food items was collected. End 68 Hours of Hunger is a private, not-for-profit, effort to confront the approximately 68 hours of hunger that some school children experience between the free lunch they receive in school Friday and the free breakfast they receive in school Monday.

YMCA Adventure Guides is a free program for YMCA of Greater Nashua members developed by the Y to help strengthen family relationships. The Adventure Guides experience enables families to have fun while sharing new adventures. The next Adventure Guides program will be held on March 30 from 9am to 11am and will feature Maple Syrup Making at Beaver Brook Association. They will explore the process of making Maple Syrup - learning to tap trees, make syrup and taste, all while enjoying a hike through the Beaver Brook in Hollis, NH. Participants will bring a bag lunch to enjoy with everyone after the activity.
