200 Hour Immersion in the Study of Classical Yoga with The Hard & the Soft Yoga Institute feat. Beryl Bender Birch

200 Hour Immersion in the Study of Classical Yoga with The Hard & the Soft Yoga Institute feat. Beryl Bender Birch. 8 weekends April - Oct.

Whether your intention is simply to expand your yoga practice, or to bring a more mindful sense of wellness into your life, or to step on to the path of becoming a yoga teacher – this training is for you. Our 200-hour (8 month) course of yoga study gives you an opportunity to dive progressively into the deeper and powerfully therapeutic dimensions of the yoga practices. For those who wish to become certified as teachers, this training offers a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification (RYT200) from The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute and Give Back Yoga Foundation.

If your dream is to prepare for a career in yoga service and share with others the physical and psychological benefits that you have derived from your own practice of asana and mindfulness, then this outstanding course curriculum will teach you the foundations of classical yoga and give you the range of tools you need to go from teaching a basic therapeutic asana class and offering techniques for stress relief and beginning meditation, to finding outlets for yoga service projects in your community. Being able to make a difference in people’s lives is empowering and enlivening and makes our own lives feel more satisfying and worthwhile.

The focus of this unique training is an aspect of the 8-limbed path, called kriya yoga, or the yoga of action, “Do the Work”. This means your practice is part of your lifestyle and strengthens and supports your intention to participate in the healing of our world. We are proud of our graduates. They do not sequester themselves in monasteries or drop out of global responsibility. They are leaders in their communities and find the courage to speak out and speak up, to stand up for those how have no voice, to call out injustice, to work for clean food, and drinkable water, to protect Mother Earth and our environment, and, through the discipline of yoga practice, to eradicate anger, greed, hate, and jealousy, not from the world, but from themselves.

If it is your dream to teach, share with us that dream. Whether you hope to teach in schools or studios, whether to athletes or seniors, to those with disabilities or at risk youth, or in all corners of your community, we will help you devise an Individualized Yoga Program (IYP) that focuses on the area in your community or the special population with whom you hope to work. Working with your IYP also prepares you to continue your studies in our 500 hour teacher training certification program or in any of the specialized yoga service programs of the Give Back Yoga Foundation, such as Mindful Yoga Therapy for Veterans, The Prison Yoga Project, Yoga for 12 Step Recovery, Yoga for Cancer, and others.
