ACLU-NH to Give Away 500 Pocket Constitutions on Sept. 17
Stop by Market Square in Portsmouth on Saturday to celebrate Constitution Day.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — On Sept. 17, 2016, in Portsmouth, the American Civil Liberties Union of New Hampshire (ACLU-NH) will be giving away 500 free pocket Constitutions at Market Square from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in honor of Constitution Day, a day to recognize and celebrate the signing of the United States Constitution in 1787.
The ACLU’s little pocket-sized Constitution, according to a press statement, became the most talked about accessory earlier this year after Khizr Khan held one up during the Democratic National Convention.
"After offering free copies of the Constitution on its website, the ACLU was flooded with orders from individuals hungry to learn more about their rights," according to Christina Gibson of the ACLU of New Hampshire. "They sold out after distributing over 100,000 copies, making the Portsmouth Market Square celebration the only place you can get this must-have item here in the Granite State."
