'Agadez,' Blues Music on Tap This Weekend

The Molenes rock the Press Room on Saturday night and Portsmouth Public Library's Splash youth art exhibit continues.

As most city residents know, there is never a shortage of fun things to do or places to go in Portsmouth. Each Thursday, we will offer five suggestions for people who are planning out their weekends.

1. Don't miss Agadez: The Music Hall will present the film, "Agadez, The Music and the Rebellion," on Friday night at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8.50 for adults and $6.50 for seniors, students and military members.

2. The Molenes rock the Press Room: The Molenes will perform their brand of rock and roll at the Press Room on Saturday at 9 p.m. $5 cover.

3. Come here Brickyard Blues Band: The Dolphin Striker restaurant will present the Brickyard Blues Band on Saturday from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. There is no cover.

4. Splash art show: The "SPLASH! The Art of Portsmouth’s Young People" at the Portsmouth Public Library continues this weekend. It features the art work of Portsmouth children from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and it is free.

5. "Detritus" at Players Ring: The Players Ring will present the drama "Detritus" on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. on Sunday at 7 p.m.
