Boston MedFlight is a nonprofit organization providing the highest level of critical care transport by air and ground to patients in need—regardless of their circumstances. For more than 40 years, since our founding in 1985, we have set the standard for clinical excellence, safety, and compassion in the air medical industry. Our tagline, “Your Life. Whether responding to an emergency scene or transferring a critically ill patient between hospitals, our team delivers seamless, patient-centered care during some of the most challenging moments in a person’s life. As a nonprofit, we are guided by one unwavering principle: every patient deserves access to lifesaving care, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Each year, Boston MedFlight provides more than $7 million in free and unreimbursed care, ensuring no patient is ever turned away. Our clinical teams are among the most highly trained and experienced in the world, caring for patients of all ages—from premature infants to older adults—across a wide range of conditions. These include adult and pediatric trauma, complex medical emergencies, cardiac and stroke events, high-risk obstetric and neonatal care, and specialized interfacility transfers. We achieve this excellence through rigorous training and preparedness. Every clinician completes an intensive onboarding and education program that includes hospital ICU and emergency department rotations, pediatric and neonatal critical care experience, high-fidelity simulation training, advanced procedural labs, and comprehensive classroom instruction in transport medicine. Our work is supported by a state-of-the-art fleet of Airbus H145 helicopters and Freightliner mobile ICU ground vehicles, each equipped with advanced technology comparable to leading hospital ICUs.

As most city residents know, there is never a shortage of fun things to do or places to go in Portsmouth. Each Thursday, we will offer five suggestions for people who are planning out their weekends. 1. Don't miss Agadez: The Music Hall will present the film, "Agadez, The Music and the Rebellion," on Friday night at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8.50 for adults and $6.50 for seniors, students and military members. 2. The Molenes rock the Press Room: The Molenes will perform their brand of rock and roll at the Press Room on Saturday at 9 p.m. $5 cover. 3. Come here Brickyard Blues Band: The Dolphin Striker restaurant will present the Brickyard Blues Band on Saturday from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. There is no cover. 4. Splash art show: The "SPLASH! The Art of Portsmouth's Young People" at the Portsmouth Public Library continues this weekend. It features the art work of Portsmouth children from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and it is free. 5. "Detritus" at Players Ring: The Players Ring will present the drama "Detritus" on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. on Sunday at 7 p.m.
