Altan, Splash Art Show and Bluegrass
Celtic group will perform a pre-St. Patrick's Day concert.
As most city residents know, there is never a shortage of fun things to do or places to go in Portsmouth. Each Thursday, we will offer five suggestions for people who are planning out their weekends.
1. See Altan in concert: Altan, direct from the Emerald Isle, will perform their brand of Celtic music just in time for St. Patrick's Day at the Music Hall on Friday night at 8 p.m. Tickets are $34 and $28 per person.
2. Bluegrass at Press Room: Highrange will bring their foot stomping Bluegrass music to the Press Room on Saturday at 9 p.m. There is a $7 cover charge.

3. Apocalyptic theater: The Players Ring will present "An Evening of Apocalyptic Theatre" on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. on Sunday at 7 p.m. Join John Herman and friends as they present drama, comedy, romance, and even music.
4. Splash art show: Check out "SPLASH! The Art of Portsmouth’s Young People" at the Portsmouth Public Library on Saturday and Sunday featuring the art work of Portsmouth children from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a artists reception held on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

5. Discover Portsmouth Center: The Discover Portsmouth Center on Middle Street is always a great place for families to learn more about the city's history and cultural heritage.
