Traveling Trunk 2022
Registration opens March 1st at 12 pm EST
Bring 18th century reproduction clothing and objects to your local school or homeschool group with the American Independence Museum's Traveling Trunk. Educators across the country can register to have the Trunk, which includes lesson plans, sent to their classrooms for a month. The Trunk is free to all, thanks to our partners Service Credit Union. Registration opens next week, Monday, March 1 at 12 pm EST. Let your local educators know! This resource is highly popular and slots for 2022 will fill up quickly.
Meet Sabina and Emma
The American Independence Museum expands, hiring a new Content and Marketing Manager and Program Assistant
Meet Sabina our new Content and Marketing Manager- Sabina is coming to the museum with a strong background in non-profit marketing and a passion for "digging into" history. Throughout her graduate program in Classical Archaeology at the University of Cincinnati, Sabina was highly involved with public outreach. She has run community engagement for archaeological excavations and worked as part of the marketing team at the WonderLab Museum of Science in Bloomington, Indiana before moving to New Hampshire.
Meet Emma our new Programs Assistant- Emma is a community-oriented educator who is passionate about the public value of museums and how they can educate, engage, and inspire our society. She strives to build public engagement and visibility through our public programs. Emma just received her M.A. in Museum Education from Tufts University in May 2020. She is excited to rework all education and public engagements to be mission and collections driven.
The Future of Exeter's Black History: Jude Hall Pocket Park
Friday, February 19 at 7 pm "Exeter TV" Livestream
Hear about plans to create a Black Heritage pocket-park in downtown Exeter. Five panelists from a committee of Exeter citizens will discuss a proposal. Attendee Q&A to follow, via Zoom chat.
