• Downtown Portsmouth 40-apartment project granted extension (seacoastonline.com) — Portsmouth’s Planning Board has granted a one-year extension for the 40-unit market-rate apartment redevelopment at 361 Hanover Street, near Foundry Place Garage and Rock Street Park. The project will convert and expand the former Heinemann Publishing site into fully residential buildings, adding much-needed downtown housing while designers finish electrical and other plans before pulling building permits.    

• 3 Seacoast NH girls lacrosse teams poised to defend state titles (seacoastonline.com) — Portsmouth High School’s girls lacrosse team just completed a perfect 15-0 Division I season and enters the state tournament as the top seed, aiming for another title. Fellow Seacoast powers Winnacunnet and St. Thomas Aquinas also return as serious contenders, with coaches highlighting tough schedules, strong defense, and senior leadership heading into the win-or-go-home playoffs.
