Fifteen years ago, Portsmouth native Matt Grazier decided  that he was meant to be behind a camera.  He enrolled in the Associate degree program at the Maine Photographic Workshops where he met his future wife and business partner, Enna Dole (now Enna Dole Grazier) and went on to earn his BFA at the Massachusetts College of Art. For twelve years, the Graziers have offered couples a uniquely creative alternative to  traditional staged wedding photos with their honest and artistic approach to wedding photography. Making themselves exclusively available for 25 weddings a year, the Graziers have won several international wedding photojournalism awards, and their work has taken this dynamic team coast to coast in the US, to several Caribbean islands, Munich, Germany, and as far away as Mauritius.  “When we got married, one thing we learned  was how important the environment was. So we love to show a sense of place in our photography,” says Matt Grazier.

Their artistic sensibility has also made Grazier Photography one of Bostons most sought-after family portrait studios. The Graziers’ style of family portraiture is full of personality and emotion. “We love documenting the unique expressions children make -- the ones every parent knows and adores,” says Enna Grazier, “and to achieve this level of intimacy, we take the time to get to know each family before their session. When children are relaxed and enjoying themselves, we can create an especially tender and authentic image of  the child--really, of the whole family.”

The Graziers encourage families to contact them to schedule portrait sessions today. “It’s not too late for those holiday photos, the fall is the perfect time of year for family portraits,” says Matt Grazier. “We are at orchards, beaches, and hiking trails capturing gorgeous portraits of families. Environment adds to the effect, with all the beautiful colors of the the outdoors.” Fall family portraits also make perfect holiday cards, gifts, and wall art, all of which are  available custom-designed at Grazier Photography. The Graziers also offer gift certificates available for later use in the spring or summer.

The Graziers are thrilled to open the doors of their new downtown Portsmouth studio to the world.  Grazier Photography is located at 72A Congress St, and offers creative family portraiture  and wedding photojournalism for clients who love and appreciate art.
