Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested in Maine
Portsmouth Police say U.S. Marshals arrested David Wilson in Gardiner, Maine Thursday after they initially thought he was incarcerated at the NH State Prison in Concord.

U.S. Marshals arrested a Portsmouth armed robbery suspect in Gardiner, Maine on Thursday after it was intially believed he was incarcerated in the New Hampshire State Prison in Concord.
Portsmouth Police Lt. Michael Maloney of the detectives division said David J. Wilson, 27, no fixed address, is now being held in the Kennebec County Jail. Pending extradition proceedings, Maloney said Wilson will return to face the armed robbery and receiving stolen property charges in Portsmouth. Police did not indicate when Wilson would be arraigned.
Wilson is now facing two counts of armed robbery, one count of robbery and six counts of receiving stolen property. According to police, the first armed robbery charge stems from , where a male suspect entered the Tedeschi Food Shop on Islington Street armed with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money from the cashier. The man then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The second armed robbery charge and the robbery charge stem from an incident that occurred several days later, , in the Worth Parking Lot in downtown Portsmouth. A female victim was reportedly approached by a male suspect who assaulted her and forcibly removed her purse. During the struggle, the suspect struck the woman multiple times in the head and then fled on foot. It was later determined that the victim had been struck with a pellet gun.
Portsmouth Police said they also executed a search warrant on April 2 on a vehicle that was impounded as a result of officers finding Wilson and a woman inside it. Both were wanted on separate warrants and arrested. The six receiving stolen property charges stem from that incident.
