Art in Portsmouth

Some of the latest events on the Seacoast, including Portsmouth's Art 'Round Town, which takes place tomorrow evening.

Tomorrow is Art ‘Round Town in Portsmouth, and the arts around town are booming this weekend! Here are a few things to check out:

  • Gallery 280: Tonight is the grand opening of Gallery 280. Come check out local artists and enjoy refreshments in their new space!
  • Button Factory Open Studios: Friday at 5 p.m., head down to the Button Factory for a preview, complete with live music and open studios. Saturday and Sunday from 11-5, artists and craftsmen from all over the Seacoast will open their studios. View local art, purchase gifts for loved ones, and enjoy exploring the former factory building!
  • The Wizard of Oz: The Seacoast Rep has started their production of The Wizard of Oz, which starts this weekend and will run through December 28th.
  • The Music Hall: As usual, The Music Hall has a great line-up for this weekend. Stop in to see the “The Ragpicker’s Dream” on Saturday or Sunday, and get your tickets for the Ogunquit Playhouse production of Mary Poppins!
  • A Christmas Carol: Spend your weekend with a Christmas classic, brought to you by the Player’s Ring.
  • NH Art Association Holiday Event: Celebrate the holidays at the Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery, and pick up a piece of art you can treasure forever. All pieces are under $300!
  • Tan Vampires: The Press Room is hosting a variety of musical guests this week, including the Tan Vampires, a local group self described as “carefully crafted American songwriting supported by a full-band of tight and tasteful musicianship.”

Other things happening around town:

  • The opening of the Puddle Dock Pond has been postponed until December 12th. AND as part of the new skating rink, there will be skating lessons for all ages! Maybe YOU could be the next Michelle Kwan.
  • The Fox Run Mall is in full holiday mode, and Santa is ready to take photos with your children, or pets!
  • The Sagamore Bridge could reopen by Christmas!
