Memorial Bridge Project Website Recently Launched by DOTs
Info about new website requesting public input.

A “must do” if you're a local is to check out the new website that's been launched by the New Hampshire and Maine departments of transportation (DOTs) to keep the community informed on the current news for the bridge.
The DOTs have worked very hard to create the website with the community needs in mind. They want to keep everyone informed and encourage you to connect to the project’s Facebook, Twitter, and E-blasts. There is something there to meet everyone’s needs and interest level including: photos, shuttle schedule, construction schedule, glossary, frequently asked questions, interactive detour mapping, and more. And, it’s not even done yet. Like the bridge project itself, the website is a design-build project too.
So many members of the community are very personally invested in Memorial Bridge and the replacement project. In fact, as the public outreach coordinator, I’m requesting input from you. The website is about 50 percent complete, but how would you like to see it completed?

Would you like more information on the actual bridge design and innovations? More information about the construction process? What about the bridge history and community history relating to the bridge? All ideas are good ones. Just let me know what you’re thinking and what you want. This is your project, too.
And, one of the requirements of my role is to promote local cultural events and businesses that might be impacted by the temporary closure of the bridge. The social media connected to the website is a great way for me to accomplish this. It's really important we keep the communities connected during this temporary closure and we need do all we can, as a community, to help each other. I’m a local too and I’m making it a point to get to Kittery when I have shopping or dining needs.

I’ve received many compliments on the website so far and I’ve been asked about the designer. I chose a Portsmouth based company, Vital Design, as the web and social media designer. Check out www.vtldesign.com. Vital has a lot of experience with promoting the Portsmouth and Kittery communities and they are a ridiculously talented group of professionals, in my opinion. I knew they would deliver on the type of website that the community deserves.
So, don’t be shy, send me some input and let me know what you are thinking.
