An in-demand saxophonist, Molnar has built a strong reputation performing as both a sideman and bandleader. He has shared stages with Grammy and Emmy-Award winning artists such as Patrice Rushen, Ghost-Note, Braxton Cook, Makaya McCraven, Debo Ray, Farayi Malek and many more. Regularly performing in Boston and touring New England, Molnar has also been featured at numerous festivals like the Charles River Jazz Fest, Boston Jazz Fest, Burlington Discover Jazz Fest, and First Night Boston.

The Seba Molnar band is more than a group of musicians—it’s a vibrant, multidimensional, community-driven collective rooted in Boston’s creative ecosystem. The ensemble is made up of some of Bostons best players regularly feature a diverse array of special guests. While grounded in jazz, the group thrives on pushing beyond traditional boundaries. Their sound draws from funk, hip-hop, psychedelic rock, and global influences, creating an immersive, genre-bending experience that invites listeners into new sonic territory.

Their latest project, J.F.R., is an experimental exploration of today’s political and cultural climate—blending free jazz, spoken word, and curated samples to form a powerful, multidimensional statement.

Beyond performing, Molnar is the founder and executive director of the Charles River Jazz Festival and the Boston Jazz Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to revitalizing Boston's jazz scene through education, scholarships, and performance opportunities. Committed to preserving jazz traditions and uplifting new generations of artists, Molnar continues to act as a cultural advocate helping shape the city's cultural landscape.
