Chamber Collaborative Of Greater Portsmouth: Kennedy Gallery Presents Beacon - A Collection Of Original Work By Debbie Mueller

Lighthouses have captured our attention and our hearts since they first came to be.

October 30, 2021

Throughout the month of November, Kennedy Gallery is pleased to present BEACON - a collection of original oil paintings by Debbie Mueller, inspired by the lighthouses of New England.

Lighthouses have captured our attention and our hearts since they first came to be. They represent safety, arriving home, a welcoming harbor, and illumination in darkness. They also symbolize isolation, strength, resilience, searching, and enlightenment. No wonder we are fascinated with them!

As Debbie says, "I married a lighthouse lover- and it has rubbed off on me. My loves of painting architecture and the coast are married in this current endeavor. “Beacon” presents 26 paintings of some of the most beloved lighthouses of New England. This labor of love is also a desire to give back. 20% of the proceeds of this exhibition will be donated to the American Lighthouse Foundation, an organization which is responsible for the maintenance of 18 lighthouses in New England. Each of these is represented in the exhibit, including “our” lighthouses - Whaleback and the Portsmouth Harbor Light. My thanks to Jeremy D’Entremont, President of the ALF, for allowing me to use some of his wonderful photos as references. I would not have been able to complete this project without his help."

Please join us for an
Opening Reception on Friday, November 5th , from 5-8 pm,
or stop in during the month of November to enjoy Debbie's work.

Masks respectfully requested.
Thank you

The works are on exhibit November 1st -30th, 2021.
ENJOY!
