City Offers Great Music, Chess this Weekend
The Temptations perform Friday at Music Hall; Portsmouth Public Library offers children's chess games; Racky Thomas Blues Band at the Press Room.
As most city residents know, there is never a shortage of fun things to do or places to go in Portsmouth. Each Friday, we will offer five suggestions for people who are planning out their weekends.
1. The Temptations at Music Hall: Don't miss your chance to see the legendary group, The Temptations, in concert on Friday at 8 p.m. at the Music Hall. Tickets are $52 and $44.
2. "My Week with Marilyn": The Music Hall will also the show film, "My Week with Marilyn," at 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and also on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tickets are $8.50 for adults and $6.50 for seniors, students and members of the military.

3. Racky Thomas Blue Band: The Press Room will offer the venue on Satuday night for the Racky Thomas Blues Band when they perform at 9 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge.
4. Chess anyone?: The Portsmouth Public Library will host a family chess event on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Levenson Meeting Room for children of all ages. Chess sets will be provided and the event is free. The event is made possible by the Jeremy Alex Fund of Portsmouth Rotary.

5. Discover Portsmouth Center: The Discover Portsmouth Center on Middle Street is always a great place for families to learn more about the city's history and cultural heritage.
