Cocheco Academy of The Arts - Summer of Fundraising

It is a frequent Hollywood movie plot – the beloved school is closing, and the students, teachers and parents must rally to save the school. It is happening in real life right now at Cocheco Academy of the Arts in Dover, NH. CATA is a public charter school specializing in arts and music. It is a small but vibrant learning community full of talented, quirky, smart and amazing students and teachers. Tests might be standardized, but students are not and CATA embraces this – the learning is hands on, individualized and community and project based. Students assist in planning what their learning experience will look like. Graduates from CATA go on to attend college with majors in Math Education, Psychology, Music and Fashion Design. Their interests are diverse but they all fit perfectly into our community.

CATA is extending an invitation to everyone to join in our efforts. How can you help? Spread the word! Share the mission of Cocheco Academy of the Arts. Many families who could benefit from this type of educational setting – those who may struggle with traditional school culture - don’t even realize that this is an affordable alternative to traditional public or private school. Attending CATA is a choice and our school is open to all in grades 9-12 in New Hampshire tuition free. We need to get the word out. We are here! We need you as much as you need us!

Summer BASH - Rochester Performing Arts Center, Main St. Rochester.

Lee Farmer's Market - every Thursday afternoon (weather permitting).

Hackmatack Playhouse - Thursday 7/25 (matinee performance), Thursday 8/1 (evening performance), Berwick, Maine.

Dover Artwalk, Friday 8/2

National Night Out, Tuesday, 8/6, Rochester Commons.

CATA is also having a summer information night on Thursday, August 8 at Rochester Public Library starting at 6pm. On the spot interviews will be conducted for those with a completed applications.
