Sometimes Progressive Policies Don't Work With National Defense
Let's Better Progressive Defense Policies

We are currently facing a grave threat from abroad in the form of a terrorist group that is the most deadly, well organized, and tactically sophisticated organization in the history of our country. Of course, ISIS or ISIL, whatever you prefer to call them are not only embarking on creating an Islamist Caliphate (country) in the Middle East, but they are also looking at making their way to both European shores as well as our own in the U.S.
Indeed, the Obama Administration’s response is to target certain areas for air strikes, namely the Kurdish Region, where a humanitarian crisis for Christians there has occurred. Also, their intention is to do the same in Syria, and their argument in both cases is that they are doing it for humanitarian reasons. Herein lies the problem. Without a military strategy against this colossal threat you’re not helping anyone out in a humanitarian way, because by just reacting to ISIS instead of putting together a plan to destroy them you’re simply laying the ground work for more humanitarian crisis.
It‘s a noble thought to want to rescue threatened people in other countries, but in this case it‘s sort of like saying “we really care and we‘re going to save these people with the biggest water pistols that we have”. The problem with ultra left wing policies is always the same. Instead of thinking about what the true threats to our country are, and also helping defenseless people that are being threatened, the strategy that is used is reactive without an overall plan developed by military minds. In this case, there is a tendency on the part of this administration to rely less on military expertise, and more on their consultants from the ivory tower academic world, as well as their impractical, often emotional base.

The current situation is not unlike when Jimmy Carter sent in several helicopters, during the Iranian hostage crisis, to rescue the American Hostages, back on April 24, 1980. The mission was a disaster, ill thought out with incredibly poor judgement. Everyone died on the mission, and the U.S. looked incredibly bad, and defenseless to the world. What it took was a more assertive, and defense minded president (Ronald Reagan) to come into office in order for them to be released. The Democrats need to utilize their own unique strategies that are just as effective.
