Eastern Bank supports mobile health care program

PORTSMOUTH, NH – The Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation has awarded Families First Health and Support Center $10,000 in support of their mobile health care program.

The grant will be used for be used for Families First’s mobile health care program, which serves mostly people experiencing homelessness and others with very low incomes. Families First has operated the mobile program for 14 years, serving sites in Portsmouth, Hampton, Exeter, Dover and Rochester. Mobile health teams bring primary care, health screenings, care coordination, substance abuse counseling and access to dental care.

“Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation has a focus on ensuring equal access to essential support services for the underserved and neediest members of our community,” says Families First Executive Director Helen Taft. “Our mobile health program is a great fit with this priority.”

This is the second grant Families First has received from Eastern Bank. In addition, the bank has supported Bottomline Technologies’ Race for a Cause, which benefits Families First, and annual vision screening clinics the health center holds for diabetic patients.

The Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation annually provides ten percent of the Bank’s profits to support grants to community based organizations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
