Through Oct. 31, the Portsmouth eatery will donate 10 percent of all sales to the local nonprofit, My Breast Cancer Support.

The Blue Mermaid is going pink. The Portsmouth restaurant will dedicate a week of fundraising efforts to benefit breast cancer support. Beginning October 26th through the 31st,, the Blue Mermaid will donate 10% of all sales to local non-profit, My Breast Cancer Support.

“Supporting local non-profits is something we have done throughout our entire twenty year history,” said Scott Logan, Owner of the Blue Mermaid Island Grill. “My wife, Karen, and I believe it’s important to give back to our community, and to those who support us. Anyone who comes by the Blue Mermaid between October 26th and November 31st will enjoy some great food and local live entertainment while supporting this wonderful non-profit organization.”

Next week’s evening entertainment begins with Monday night Pop Quiz Team Trivia, hosted by Phil Kliger. Tuesday evening is “Honky Tonk” with the Seldom Playwrights performing live. Wednesday’s Open Mic is a costume dance party. Friday night, Halloween, is a Costume Party with prizes and local Singer Song writer, Seth Gooby’s band, The Landlady’s, who will perform their “Death To The Landlady’s Halloween Special.”

Co-owner, Karen Logan said, “Think Pink and Think Local this October! We like to work hard, give back to our community, and have fun doing it here at the Mermaid. This is our second year supporting My Breast Cancer Support and we plan to make it an annual event each year. Last year’s efforts raised $313.00 for the organization, which came from Open Mic and Halloween. This year we are expanding our contribution days and hope to raise even more. Don’t forget to wear pink!”

Karen Logan is a Paul Harris Fellow Award recipient from Rotary International for her contributions to the Seacoast community. For more information about Blue Mermaid’s commitment to local organizations visit www.bluemermaid.com, Community Giving.
