Education programs and historical collection get a boost
American Independence Museum and local businesses work together to preserve history

Just one month into the 2016 season, and the American Independence Museum in Exeter is already seeing a sizable boost in visitors. Museum Operations Manager Rob Levey attributes the strong start to more consistent community outreach, which has resulted in new corporate sponsors and enticed longstanding supporters to renew at higher levels.
“Ultimately, we want to positively impact the entire community of Exeter and surrounding areas,” he said. “The corporate sector shares our vision and recognizes some of the assets we possess—namely, great programming and a world-class collection.
Recently, Chinburg Properties made a contribution of $1,000 to support the Museum’s re-energized mission and vision. Jen Chinburg, director of marketing of Chinburg Properties, said she believes in the Museum’s work.
"Chinburg Properties is pleased to support the American Independence Museum because of its important work preserving the history of the region, celebrating our country's independence and and helping young people and adults to understand the legacy of the patriots who came before us," she said.
New exhibits, events and educational programming as well as free admission for veterans and their families are made possible by major sponsors. Major sponsors include Hoefle Phoenix Gormley & Roberts, P.A. Attorneys at Law, Two International Group, AutoFair, Geico, New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, Foy Insurance, Chinburg Properties, Access Sports, RiverWoods, and The Farm at Eastman's Corner.
Julie Williams, Museum executive director, said she is excited at their organizational direction and credits the community of Exeter for its increasingly visionary view of the town and its future.
“The town of Exeter is a hidden gem and something we want to share with others,” she said. “We are collaboratively working with sponsors, individual community members, and businesses to make sure we increase awareness of what this town offers.”
