9/11 - Tribute at Dusk

Contact: Alexandra Borrie   603-373-8679   aborrie@comcast.net

September 11, 2011 marks the tenth anniversary
of the attacks on the World Trade Center.  Join us on Thursday, September 8 at 7PM as we commemorate the events of this day with actress, Alexandra Borrie.

Borrie was living in Rego Park, Queens, on Sept 11, 2001 and responded to the catastrophic events of that day as a creative artist.  Borrie began recording her experiences after witnessing the attack, which took the life of her sister in law (Tower 1, 97th floor).  9/11, Tribute at Dusk is Borrie’s dramatic response to this historic event in New York City.  Her collaboration with writers, actors and architects during the six month creative frenzy of emotionally charged work, resulted in an hour long theatre piece which focuses on the process of creating art out of
chaos.

She is a professional actress, singer, educator and director.
She lectures on the topic of creating art at a time of crisis.   She is a Resident Scholar at the Women’s Studies Research Center at Brandeis University, where she lectures and performs regularly.  Her experience of serving on the
Temporary Memorials Committee in Manhattan, formed to collate the massive output from artists in the city at the time, helped her to develop this theatre piece.
Formally of New York City, Borrie now resides on the Seacoast.
