An 1836 Portsmouth Nutcracker

Heralded as 'Portsmouth’s Nutcracker', An 1836 Portsmouth Nutcracker will appear in its 23rd season at The Historic Music Hall. The Great Bay Academy of Dance is presenting an enhanced production sure to enchant audiences like never before by the story of young Clara Goodwin and her heroic Nutcracker  Prince. This year's production features: the Goodwin Family who lived at Strawbery Banke; a snow storm in front of Market Square’s North Church; and a dream scene that takes place in the Piscataqua River Harbor. More than 100 locally cast dancers and actors will fill the stage with classical ballet and brilliant costuming. Guest Artists include Barrington Hinds (NYC’s Stephen Petronio Dance Company), Lissa Silk, Timothy Stokel and choreography by Alden Caple under the Artistic  Direction of Elisa Gerasin. This 2011 production is not to be missed!
