Con Tutti Concert - "Get a Job" - Celebrating the World of Work!

The 100 singers of the World Music Chorus, Con Tutti, will sing their hearts out while celebrating the working world with their concert, “Get A Job!” on Saturday, May 5!
“We are having great fun singing doo-wop songs to sea shanties, Scottish herding ballads to South African mining songs!” says director, Joanne Connolly. “The world of work is celebrated all over the world through fabulous cultural music. Our favorite song is the South African mining song, “Tshotsholoza” which helped usher in the World Cup recently in South Africa. The concert is chocker block full of upbeat songs, sung to the rhythm of everyday working, past and present.” Con Tutti will sing the sailing songs of Philipino rowers, and capstan turning American and English sailors. The very heart and soul of the Balkans will be heard in the gorgeous sea song, “Plovi Barko”. “Get a Job” will celebrate American workers as celebrated by the famous 50’s singing group, The Silhouettes, the beautiful ballad, “Brother Can you Spare a Dime,” and Stephen Foster’s timeless “Hard Times”.
Con Tutti’s “Get A Job!” spring tribute to working will be sung May 5, 7:30 p.m. at South Church, 292 State Street in Portsmouth. Tickets are available now at Paradiza, 63 Penhallow Street in Portsmouth for $10.00 or $12.00 at the door. The show is sure to sell out so get your tickets early!
