Great Bay Community College Host Reception to Unveil New Gallery Exhibit

Oil, Pastel and Watercolor Paintings by Pat Andreotti of York, Maine

Portsmouth -  The Gateway Gallery at Great Bay Community College is pleased to present a new exhibit featuring the oil, pastel and watercolor paintings of Pat Andreotti of York, Maine. Her work showcases images of New England, Italy and other subject matter, representing her travels and experiences. Her series, “A journey through the woods”, deals with the exploration of inner, psychological spaces. They employ elements of the external landscape and forms of trees, as metaphors for psychic structures. Her paintings of Italy are presented through the theme of “Passages,” capturing doors, arches and alleys that lead to ancient unknown places that awaken archaic memories that influence present journeys. Pat Andreotti’s work will be on exhibit at Great Bay Community College from March 25 to May 10, 2013. The event is free and open to the public.  An opening reception featuring music, wine and cheese will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, from 5:00-7:00 PM.
