How Men Think(Or Do They?) Comedy Tour

How Men Think (Or Do They?) Returns to Portsmouth with All New Line Up   How can women know exactly how men think? Will women ever truly understand male thoughts? Is it possible for women to think from male point of view? The answer to all of these questions: Be careful what you wish for. That's the message many take from the all-male standup comedy show "How Men Think (Or Do They?): A hilarious peek inside the male mind." The comedy returns to New Hampshire at the Portsmouth Gas Light, 64 Market Street, Portsmouth on Saturday, October 15th.   "It's not just about men being from Mars and women from some other solar system where you can't wipe your hands on the 'good' towels in the bathroom," said Dave Rattigan, comedian and the show's co-creator. "It's more about getting five funny guys together, with different life experiences, to try to explain themselves."   The show, which debuted in 2009, features a revolving lineup of male standup comedians who share different (but very male) observations on the world around them. Over the course of 90 minutes, they share their points of view on wives, mothers, friends, kids, careers, neighbors, growing older, love, lust, Internet dating and other things you won't believe they've wasted time thinking about.   "It's a great night out," said co-creator Lisa Knight from Drinkwater Productions, LLC whose company produces the show along with Scamps Comedy Productions. "Women really appreciate hearing these things coming from guys who have no ulterior motives and are just honestly trying to make them laugh."Knight's company also produces local performances of the all-female standup show "Five Funny Females," and launched "How Men Think (Or Do They?)" as a male counterpoint to that show.   The all new show line up at the Portsmouth Gas Light includes the host Rattigan, Mac Livingston, Kyle Crawford, Tony Moschetto, and Ken Reid. "All of these guys are excellent comedians who cull material from their own lives," said Rattigan, whose CD has received heavy airplay on the comedy channel of XM-Sirius Satellite radio. "We all work at comedy clubs, but when we're together with this theme, and this expectation from the audience, it creates a very different vibe than what you get in a comedy club. At certain points you'll see women laughing as their husbands nod their heads in recognition. After the show, I'll often have women come up to me in the lobby and tell me about something one of us said that mirrors behavior they've observed in the past from a boyfriend, husband, father or some other lughead in their lives."At one show, we had a table of women laughing hysterically, while next to them was a table of men -- the husbands -- also laughing, but with a little more sanity. In that case, social separation was the best recipe for a happy marriage."   Showtime at the Portsmouth Gas Light on October 15th is 7:30 p.m., with seating at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance/$25 at door, and seating is limited so advance purchase of tickets is recommended. Patrons can stay for dancing after the show. For more information, go to  http://www.drinkwaterproductions.com  or call 603-430-9122.
