Irish Set Dancing in the Seacoast

Put on your dancing shoes and hoof on over to the Durham Unitarian Church for some crazy dancing, laughing, a good workout and simply put: fun! Set dancing is a very lively, energetic folk-style form of dance with an aerobic quality. No prior experience necessary; just wear a pair of smooth-soled shoes and bring a water bottle!

The "SET" consists of eight people, like square dancing, but the movements are done double-time, to quick, invigorating Irish music. Like the familiar Celtic knot symbols, you'll be dancing intricate patterns to the beat
of reels, jigs, hornpipes and polkas. Set dancing is not step dancing (as in Riverdance), which is a common misunderstanding.

Come on out and give it a try! Bring your friends! You might think you are too tired by the end of the week and would rather watch TV, but once you hear the music,
your feet start tapping, and you're flying across the floor, smiling ear-to-ear! See you on the dance floor! Confirm schedule by email or check website.
